Texas · Department of Transportation (data.texas.gov)

The U.S. state of Texas (the largest road network in the United States) publishes its Department of Transportation (TxDOT) lettings on data.texas.gov (Socrata API, no key), the "Bid Tabulations" dataset. Detail is at the bid-item level: the connector (generic Socrata engine) de-duplicates by project and keeps the project title, district and letting date, normalised to the unified schema. Recent results (downstream), local classification (not CPV) → CPV left empty by design.

The reproducible guide to wire this source into production. We say clearly what is open, what needs a key, and what remains to confirm.

1 · What it is
The U.S. state of Texas (the largest road network in the United States) publishes its Department of Transportation (TxDOT) lettings on data.texas.gov (Socrata API, no key), the "Bid Tabulations" dataset. Detail is at the bid-item level: the connector (generic Socrata engine) de-duplicates by project and keeps the project title, district and letting date, normalised to the unified schema. Recent results (downstream), local classification (not CPV) → CPV left empty by design. Scope : national.
3 · Access
Open access (no key). No key. The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) exposes its "Bid Tabulations" dataset (de7b-7dna) via an open Socrata API on data.texas.gov. Detail is at the bid-item level: the connector (generic Socrata engine) pulls a large batch (1000 rows) sorted by letting date descending, de-duplicates by project (controlling_project_id_ccsj) and keeps the project title (project_name), mapped to the unified schema. A (free) Socrata token only raises the rate limit. Cron plan: daily fetch.
4 · Endpoint / format
U.S. Socrata open-data API (generic engine, JSON, keyless)
https://data.texas.gov/resource/de7b-7dna.json
5 · Where to paste the key
No key. To override the endpoint at deployment : TENDVEO_SRC_TEXAS_DOT_ENDPOINT.
6 · How to test
Run node connectors/run.mjs texas-dot and check that N real contracts come back.
