What a public tender looks like: an example
A public tender comes in two parts: the contract notice (the short public announcement) and the consultation file (the DCE, the set of detailed documents). Here, field by field, is what a real example looks like.
The anatomy of a contract notice
| Field | Example |
|---|---|
| Buyer | Town of …, department … |
| Object | Public-lighting renovation works |
| CPV code | 45316110 (lighting installation) |
| Procedure | Adapted procedure / open tender |
| Deadline | Bids submitted before … at noon |
| Criteria | Price 40 %, technical value 60 % |
What the consultation file (DCE) contains
- Consultation rules (RC): the rules, the criteria, the documents to submit
- Technical specifications (CCTP): the detailed technical requirements
- Administrative clauses (CCAP): payment, penalties, deadlines
- Price schedule (DPGF / BPU): the price breakdown template
- Drawings, annexes: depending on the contract
The best way to understand a tender is to read real ones: browse real contracts by sector on Tendveo, or learn to respond to them.
